Hi Mark. If Your app runs on NT4 SP3, then it will most likely run on
NT4 Terminal Server Edition. You just put your app in one place on the
Server, then drag a shortcut to it to each users profile.
I can't answer for Paradox's net control file problems, but I can't see
why this should be a problem.
If your application uses Serial Port comms, then most likely you are in
for a very rude shock.
If you are intending to use Serial Comms on thin client, then please
contact me privately as I am currently working on this problem.
This is very new technology, and despite manufacturers reassurances, it
is not all together yet. Also, get your client to take a long hard look
at the perceived advantages. It IS MORE expensive than a conventional PC
solution, and as far as I can see, the so called maintenance gains are
just not there.

Subject: [DUG]: NT Terminal Server
Hi All
I have an application D3 and Paradox which has been
installed around the
traps mostly in single user situations on Win 95 and 98.
I have a couple of sites where it is running on 95 peer
to peer networks
with 3 users, and (with some very helpful advice from
Gary Benner) it
seems to be running smoothly in these situations.
I have now been asked by a potential site whether it
will run under
Windows NT Terminal Server. As I have never heard of
this beast, I am
wondering if anyone can give me a steer as to whether my
system will run
on such a network and are there any tricks or pitfalls
to watch out for?
(Be gentle. I'm a layman!)
Thanks
Mark Howard
