I was not able to get to the Registry Only Install since it is a Custom
Dialog Install Shield Dialog.

Yes, it might be Install Shields fault, but I bet they did not say that
their install program was compatible with a as yet un released OS.

So Borland will have to buy the new fixed version of Install Shield, and
then I will have to buy the fixed version of the Delphi 4 Setup CD off them.

Does JBuilder use custom dialogs?, like the D4 install with it Serial Number
screen? I tried D3 and it appears to work fine, but I did not go the whole
way through. Just a couple of setup dialogs.

Very true - it does, however, appear to work well on NT5 tho :)

try the runimage and then the registry only install - that should work
fine for you, and it should also register all/most of the activeX's too!

Incedentally, JBuilder 3, which also uses InstallShield, works and
installs just fine. It is, however, a known InstallShield bug. As usual,
everyone is pointing fingers at everyone else and saying "your fault".
MS are about the only ones who dont get pointed at, and they are really
the ones at fault.

Personally, I found NT5 to be worthless for me - the only advantage I
get from it is Direct3D for games, which I dont play much, and a lot of
headaches with other hardware. With SP5, NT4 has gotten REALLY stable -
I'm sticking with that for a while I think.
