Hi all. The battle goes on. I have done a lot of work with the Twain
interface only to find that my new USB scanner with all the bells and
whistles seems to have its on damned control code, non-standard Twain,
which means that the user cant set units and so on out of the Acquire page.
I have mailed the makers and 'I should be so lucky' as to get a response,
but the other thing is that I would really like to be able to show that the
scanner is online/available.
Now, I guess this is pretty well across the board for modern scanners that
once they are available, they will appear in the Control panel, and
disappear when they are removed.
Using this, I can then instantiate a online/offline LED.
Q - anyone know how to parse for a particular item on the control panel,
device manager to check for its existence/non-existence??
Tks,
Alistair+
