No this is not the problem, in my original message I said :- " I was moving
my component pallete around (this is D4)
and my finger slipped of teh mouse button, which dropped the component
palette some where, and I cant find it !!!"

Have you logged on under a different username? Assuming that you are using
NT?
The different permissions can hide some files. We had a similar problem...
