Hi guys

I recently posted the following on Off-Topic and only got one response
so am moving it to the main list.
The delay in following it up was because I was away for a few days, not
because it is non-urgent!

 I have just done an installation where my app is having problems
 printing.

 I am using D3 with QuickReports.  This is the 14th installation that I
 have done, the 5th on a network.  They have a Win 98 network.

 The symptoms are: Start App, Preview Report - all OK.  If I print the
 report either from the Preview screen or direct, then the error light
 comes on the (HP LJ 6000P) printer.

 If, however, I merely open and close the printer setup dialog box,
 without changing any of the settings, it prints OK from the preview
 screen (the correct printer is selected,  incidentally).  If I generate
and try to print another report then I am back to
 square 1, until I again open and close the setup dialog box.

 Excel and Word etc print from this workstation with no problems.

 Question:  What could be causing this? or failing that, how do I
 programatically open and close the printer setup box every time the
 print button is clicked (horrors!).

Patrick suggested the use of a 3rd party component called EDSPrint, but
it seems to me that it should be able to be fixed without the use of
something like that.

Any suggestions of what tests I should be doing to track down the
problem would be gratefully received.
