Nic,
They bought infomodeller, which was one of Paul Allen's companies. Visio
have put a far nicer front end on it. it also worked with a high level
modelling environment called FORML, which has been bent to integrate with
UML and produces pretty, user-language, reports for ticking off lists of
requirements etc - then supposedly produces the data-model from there.
All 90% technology but the sort of thing MS would hype into oblivion.
BTW it's Visio "Enterprise" only - costs about the same as Delphi
"Enterprise".

Damn, must be a long time since I looked at Visio - it was a LONG way
from being a serious data-modeling tool, tho it did UML diagrams (and
lots of other, fairly useless (to me), diagrams).
