Ok, well yeah this is about what I figured.....I guess the other thing to do
is to keep a GOOD back up of your components ALSO...otherwise might be less
than helpful when you try to install a package when one or more components
doesn't exist.

I have a package that I keep that contains all the components that I have
ever created and used. So when ever I have to reinstall delphi I just
reinstall my package. As simple as that. Even if the component is only
used in one app I still keep it installed to get around the very problem
that you describe.
