I am not sure want you mean by 'technical issues, best to use Modal' -
certainly doing everything via modal dialogs is easier to program as you are
controlling state. Simply being easier to program is no excuse for forcing
the user to jump through hoops, as you should be able to control a query
without having to use Modal forms.
