Owens use Symbols (and possibly Telxons), we've used Telxons/Symbols and
PSions for kiwifruit dispatch/storage etc. All are reasonably rugged,
Telxons are the best followed by Symbols then PSions - all require
programming (Symbols use C, I can't remember what Telxons and PSions use),
prices range from moon-beams (for telxons) down to hundreds of dollars
(PSions) per unit. The necessary SDK software is priced accordingly.

Walker Datavision (Auckland) is a place to start - they do/did Telxons, I
can't remember where we sourced the Symbols and Really Useful Software
(call David on 021-927252) do PSions.

There are also MSI's
