Nowhere have I seen this Nic - that would be the ideal scenario. I agree
though, if Windows is started afresh, I would be very surprised if Uncle
Bill hasnt gotten someway of interrogating when its been installed.

The HD serial number is fine; I do this with the regcode. Adding the MAC
makes it more complex and likely to cause even more problems if the NW card
is changed.
