There is certainly a weakness in SQL for database definitions to declare
more complicated RI. Perhaps better development in their feedbaack mechanisms
on DB error exceptions could generate interest. One possibility is to return
the exception as a record and have custom exceptions declared as extension to
standard exception fields... Ahh to have a decent OO database ;)
Has anyone here had any experience with ORACLE8i - does it's integration with
java provide any advantagous steps towards OODB...

Actually it's been relatively ontopic - I might have started it on the DUG-DB list
but other than that there's certainly nothing for me to rouse the rabble
about... Nor would I have complained about this topic... Considering D5 having
ADO as a major selling point all discussion on ADO is likely to to be of interest
to most people on the DUG-DB list...
NB: I'm not a list maintainer, if you have a problem with my opinions say so - they
are after all only opinions and I'm sure the maintainers will step in when they see
fit... ;)
