D,
I know I tend to bleat about xCase but one of it's major advantages is that
it has TCL built in
(In fact most of the schema generation is done in TCL) As a result you can
write your own 'jobs' in TCL
that access the model (I use this to write an ObjectData table of fields
which I use to maintain DisplayLabel, DisplayWidth etc )
So it would be possible to get xCase to maintain a stored proc which checked
for impending RI violations
As a point Aaron made
> There is certainly a weakness in SQL for database definitions to declare
> more complicated RI.
is exactly why I don't bother with declarative RI
Regards
Neven
