Subject: RE:[DUG]: Database component

Patrick.

You say "

"
 What is a Product "SKU"

You also say "
> Delphi 3 Standard supports databasing. If you can get a copy second hand
or D4
> Pro, you can also update to D5 Pro for around $650."

Thanks for the information. $650, unexpected, is not peanuts !

It seems to me that when a product is shipped with documentation included
that relies on the
database feature in Delphi with which to introduce the product and to teach
how to program it, then the feature
should be part of the product. My version of Delphi (The full version) was
shipped with this learning
document ( Quick Start booklet), and it is as useful as tits on a bull.

Seems to me to be yet another rip off and a good job for the Commerce
Commission. I'm seeking the opinion
of Inprise, who probably won't share my view, but then I'm willing to be
pleasantly surprised.

Regards

Colin
