>From what I understand, Beep produces the default sound... if you have a
sound card then the Default beep wav file is played through the sound card
(as set from the control panel)... if you have no sound card then the PC
speaker just beeps.
I guess you could check your sound card set-up and see if that helps...

I want to produce a default system beep in an app to alert the user to an
error (they will be using a barcode scanner, so will not be watching the
screen). I'm developing the app in D4.
I thought that using the Beep call would produce the desired result, but it
appears not to be the case.....
On my PC (running Win95), the above call does not create a beep (a faint
*click* is audible though).
On another PC (running WinNT), the beep is heard.
On our client's PC (running Win98), the beep is not heard.
Have also tried the MessageBeep API call (which I believe is what is called
by the Delphi Beep procedure).
What am I missing here? Any suggestions?
