My feeling is that in the medium term Linux will become dominant and MS
will fizzle. I think the dynamics of an empire dictate the end of the
empire - and this one stopped growing a while back. This is irrespective of
the DoJ verdict, the end of MS is determined first by stagnation of growth.
Linux, on the other hand, is not an empire, and consequently is not subject
to the same boom/bust cycle. It also appears to be a more secure and stable
way to go - but that is a secondary consideration.
So, I'm investing my time in learning Linux, and am hanging out for Kylix.
Of course that's just my opinion.
