Hi Stacey, how's it going?

Check out the registry:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/User
Shell Folders" (pauses for breath). The key you want is "Personal", but
there are some other useful settings there too.

Cheers,
Carl

Subject: [DUG]: My Documents directory

Is there any way of finding out what the my documents directory of another
user is?

We are running an ASP system using Citrix and Terminal Services on Windows
2000 server. I am running a process as Administrator that does some
automatic status checking on clients databases. Some of these processes
produce error reports (quick reports) which we want to save to the clients
my documents directory. I can find out what the My Documents directory of
the current user is, but I can't see how to find it for another user. From
the Windows NT user information API I can find out what the Documents and
Settings dir is if it is not the default, but if it is the default then the
information is blank. Currently I am assuming that the directory is
C:\Documents And Settings\UserName\My Documents, but this doesn't work if
the username has changed. The settings directory remains as it was for the
original username.
