The impression I got of the .NET framework and development environment that
it already does much of what delphi does i.e. the IDE, UI classes. The only
new feature delphi would provide is the language...

Anyone heard any whispers of Delphi being ported to the
M$ .Net runtime? (I guess it would have to be well after the Kylix
release.) It would be a close fit.
Or is Kylix the chance to get out from under the thumb of Microsoft.
