Ok, FWIW:
Frequently. A prototype often provokes more constructive and
valuable client feedback (where applicable) than a dozen spec
reviews. Same can be said of any creative/non-trivial endeavour,
e.g. Web sites.

Depends on the circumstances. Very often, it is the basis of a
