Could you not exclude the .LCK file from being zipped?
I've had the experience of NT servers keeping files open for a few
minutes after
the file is closed by all workstations. There is a registry setting
somewhere
to disable it but we tried & it didn't appear to work. Apparently NT
can
keep files open in anticipation that it will be opened again, which
results in
faster access. It's a real pain when doing backups.
