2 suggestions

1/ The TwwDBGrid allows editing of calc columns so you could go that way
(not recommended tho maybe IP3000 is better)
2/ Use a memtable as a intermediate (TkbmMemTable) you can add a drop temp
cols to the memtable and then
    resolve it back to the DB Table
