Don't know if it's useful for you, but: I just found out (I didn't use it before), you don't have to use TransparentColor. AlphaBlend and AlphaBlendValue work just fine. No precautions to using them in help file.
Just another though is you could make your form's FormStyle to be fsStayOnTop. Then you will probably need a mechanism of preventing users to switch to other apps (eg.
