I don't care .NET. I only care Linux, that is the reason that I ordered
Delphi 7 which include Kylix 3. There is little activity around Kylix on
Borland newsgroup and seems unlikely to get Kylix 4 out at the moment and I
plan to move to gnu pascal in future(Let's say 5 years timeframe). $479 is
the best deal I can get for Kylix 3 edition now.

Best Regards
Leigh

AFAIK Delphi 8 is due out later this year with integrated .NET support
etc... Dropping the price of an existing product to clear shelves before
releasing newer version is what I'm getting at here.

But yes, $479 for a D7 Pro upgrade is a good price. The differences between
D6 and D7 are not much, esp from a Pro point of view. I went to the release
of Delphi 7 and cancelled my order for the pro upgrade afterwards because it
seemed like a stop gap measure waiting for the .NET release.

Having ranted briefly about that, I must say that I'm current migrating a
huge legacy app form D4 to Delphi 7 and wow what an improvement in
development environment and features. :o)
