Hi Nicholas,

I think you will be fine if you just develop internet game server. There are
limited third party visual control on Kylix. But you got Indy for Kylix for
free. I think that will meet your requirement. I don't know about ICS.

Kylix 3 is the latest version and quite stable. Alway use latest version if
possible. But like Delphi, if you put multiple projects in project group and
build it all, it seems Kylix does not release memory. I end up have to
restart Kylix after a full build everytime.

By the way, how do you manage to get that amazing good deal from Orcon if it
is not confidential?

Regards
Leigh

Subject: [DUG]: Kylix?

Hey guys,

Orcon has offered me free hosting for my server application on their 200mbit
fibre optic link (Yay!!), but it has to run in Linux. Has anyone here ever
looked at Kylix? How easy is it for us to convert our projects to Kylix
(This is an internet game server using ICS)? I'm currently developing under
Delphi 5, which version of Kylix would be best for me?

Cheers,
Nicholas Sherlock
