Hi all -- I'd like to learn about web scripting and Delphi and, to be honest, I have no idea where to start. I've got an intermediate understanding of Delphi and also HTML, though the only forms I've made had info simply posted via e-mail. I know I've got access to a server running Apache in which I can run CGI scripts in a couple languages, and to a server running a Windows OS. I could also run a server from my desktop if necessary; my IP address is fixed.
What I ultimately want to do is fairly simple. I'd like to create a program that will let my students do online surveys--enter in the items and response choices, post the survey to the web, have people respond online, have respondent data saved in a simple spreadsheet format (CSV would be OK), and then easily access the spreadsheet data (perhaps by having the file e-mailed periodically or on demand from a specified URL). Can anyone point me where to start? I'm not looking for the code, and I am looking forward to learning everything I need to know ... I just don't know what that is :-) Do I need to learn something like JavaScript? Do I need to use Delphi's .NET personality? ... Just point me to some lessons & I'll take it from there! As always, thanks a million -- Al C. _______________________________________________ Delphi mailing list -> [email protected] http://www.elists.org/mailman/listinfo/delphi
