Hi,

First on behalf of the management team for eLists let me thank you for the
huge response we received, and especially thank those people who have
offered to take over the hosting - the Delphi/C++ community is truly a good
family :)

Many respondents also suggested that Mac set up a PayPal link to allow for
donations. So after discussion with the rest of the Management Team, he has
done so:

http://www.elists.org/donate/

Mac has said: "I will keep things going past dec. 14 regardless, that is to
short of a period to figure out which end is up. I was in panic mode when I
set things originally. Don't worry about anything closing immediately,
that's not necessary and I will keep things going as long as possible with
donations and if I don't think its working I'll find someone else."

He also sends thanks to those who have offered their prayers and best wishes
for him and his family :)

Now please note - that all moneys donated will go to the costs of hosting
the lists - as usual, we moderators, will donate our time, Mac will purely
be covering costs - so even if you can just give a few dollars that would be
great :)

I realise that we have received many offers to take over hosting - but that
also involves a lot of time (which Mac doesn't have just now) and it can
also be time consuming for us moderators (and personally eLists has been
taking a lot of my time of late and eating into a bit too much work time) -
so this option, if it works, will be smoothest solutions for both
subscribers and management :)

If we don't raise enough then Mac will contact some of those that offered to
host. Whatever happens we will keep you informed.

Thanks again for your support and for making this lists work! For the next
few days discussion of this will be permitted as "On Topic" on all lists -
though you can email me direct (ie off list) and I'll pass things on to
Mac...
