Hi Ken I've tried this and in D6, typing *.* into the file name box doesn't let me see all the files. I set the filter as *.jpg and could only see jpg files. You could probably make your own open dialog that only shows the files you want. I've got to rush off to see to my child who's been sent home from school sick but there's something like find first and find next for looking through directories. Wayne
