Eric We use SourceSafe for multiple Delphi, Java, C# and SQL projects. It has saved us from disaster on more than one occasion, but it is not the easiest tool to use effectively.
We have integrated SS into MSQLXpress for SQL and IntelliJ for Java, but my (half-hearted) attempt to integrate it into the Delphi IDE did not work - while everything happened the way it should it caused unacceptable ovverhead and downtime while programmers waited for each other - this can be solved by allowing multiple checkouts, but I still don't trust the SS merge. We do use Web access and this is great for developers in the field. However we have had probl;ems with files left checked out on workstations that are not available - some people need shooting. Summary - it works if used itelligently but I would evaluate all possibilities before commiting to one path. Also check the licencing carefully as the $$ add up.
