I have used this method before for simple reports, but if the report is completely user definable, and some of the flag fields are in a table or some other construct, how do I know to insert a new row? This is the problem I am having difficulty with.

I do it using a lot of find and replaces of flag fields in the template.

Where I have a repeating block. I keep reinserting the flag with each block.

Then after the repeats are finished remove the extra flag.

What is the best method of providing an easy to use, user definable report.

I need to produce an A5 booklet (A4 folded) where the user has complete control of Font, Style, and Layout etc... I thought a Word template would be the answer, but I am having trouble working out how to set it up. A Word template would be good, but how do I fill in the document with multiple records of data?

I can easily fill in a fixed report from a template; it's just a variable number of records I can't get my head around...

Is there a better way?

I'm using D2005 pro.
