Basically. FWIW, in about '99 the place I was at started running into trouble after ~50 connections on IB 5. Would've been early days of 5 though, and Firebird, IB 6+ and all the OS and network stuff would've improved a lot since then. That database was >30GB (in the days that your home box would have a 1-8GB drive :) And I'm pretty sure with IB (definitely for Firefox) you could multiplex connections if you wanted, which some db Vendors'll charge you for. The other thing - elsewhere - we used to run into was hitting a sweep and clean in IB, where if you touch a large number of records, the query will be slowed down multiple times for the database to do its housekeeping, which could be painful.
