Layout Managers, Database Connectivity, Docs, Swing vs AWT vs …, deploying apps.

 

To be fair I never have done too much with Java, mostly because I had a play and didn’t like it so moved on – so take my comment with a grain of salt. However, if anyone wants to defend COBOL then bring it on….

It is an odd comparison consider one is an IDE and the other is a
language/platform.
 
You could be doing C#, C++/CLI or VB in VS.NET.
