The thing with Firebird...and its been a while since I looked at it to be
honest, was the whole thing around having to use that DLL....whos name I
forget at the moment....UDL maybe?? That you had to use to get some basic
functionality in stored procs. Like string manipulation etc. It just adds
complexity to the install etc. IMHO.
But THEN, I am also interested In seeing IB 7 too at the seminar. I must
admit I am waiting till then to make my final decision :-)
If you are familiar with SQL Server it is probably best to stick with it
- each have their advantages and disadvantages - so if you use a lot of
store procs then SQL Server is definitely better.
