Please '''do not''' add this feature.
Trackers '''will''' notice this and ban you and/or deluge (again. My
tracker used to because Deluge '''accidentally''' reported bad stats). If
your tracker wants you to seed more, do it.
An equivalent debate to this came up with a feature to download pieces in
order to enable watching video files immediately. People argued that it
would slow down the swarm because of uneven piece distribution.
Specifically, Azureus (Vuze) did not enable the feature for regular
torrents but had it for their builtin video system. One guy however made a
very simple patch to enable that feature for regular downloads and I used
that extensively. (Always seeding back to > 1.0)
If you really want this feature, this is the beauty of open source, you
can. Just please please please don't let this become mainstream. It's
rather easy for trackers to see that your reported stats are spoofed.
