Thanks a lot for this script. It come much closer to what I want
than
the rebar command. What it does not do is compensating overfull
bars
like lilypond, see attached screenshot.
Here is a complete re-write, not much tested...
I've tidied this up a bit and fixed the repositioning of the cursor at
the end so I attach this more polished version.
