Do you have a script named /etc/init.d/denyhosts ?  If not, the service
command will not work.  The RPM (for the python 2.3 version, anyway) did
not have this file anywhere that I could find quickly.

I've got the startup script at http://zappa.brainiac.com/denyhosts if
you need a copy.  Once that's in place, the service command should work.

Once that's working, enable denyhosts at startup with the command
"chkconfig denyhosts on"

This works for Fedora/RedHat/CentOS distributions only, as far as I know.
