I have recently upgraded to the newest version of OSX, Mavericks
(10.9.1) from Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I noticed that this upgrade has
broken denyhosts, due to (my guess) the relocation of ssh login data
to the /var/log/system.log file. Has anyone been able to successfully
get it up and running, or should I just cut my losses and uninstall
denyhosts?

Thanks,

What about changing the denyhosts.cfg file?

old:
# Mac OS X (v10.3 or earlier):
SECURE_LOG=/private/var/log/system.log

new:
# Mac OS X (v10.9.1 and later):
SECURE_LOG=/var/log/system.log

I didn't try it myself because here everything stops at my OpenBSD
firewall. But for a travelling laptop? Why not?

Cheers
Eike
