Geir, I am not privy to any discussion between IBM and ASF. However, we are including the IBM copyright statement line, to achieve consensus while abiding by ASF copyright guidelines.
I'm familiar with some of the discussion :) and I'd like to figure this one out, if this was IBM's intention, or something slipped through the cracks.
