Kathy Saunders commented on DERBY-381: -------------------------------------- I reviewed the Administration section of the Server and Admin Guide and have the following comment: On page 47 (sheet #) of the PDF doc, under Backing Up a database then Using the backup procedure, it says: The SYSCS_UTIL.SYSCS_BACKUP_DATABASE() procedure locks the database and performs the copy operation. We need to be more specific about what locking the database means. Maybe something like: ...procedure locks the database so that any connection trying to write to the database will be frozen until the backup completes. Database reads can continue while the backup is running. > Doc review: Derby Server and Admin Guide > ---------------------------------------- > > Key: DERBY-381 > URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-381 > Project: Derby > Type: Improvement > Components: Documentation > Environment: all > Reporter: Jeff Levitt > Priority: Minor > Fix For: 10.1.1.0 > > This issue tracks comments for the Derby Server and Administration Guide.
