I'm talking with the Java folks about our proposed tagline "Pure Java
Database." It turns out the term "Pure" is not recommended as it
implies an old regime of "pure Java" testing and the associated logo
that caused a lot of issues.
One person recommended "Java Powered Database". What do you think?
If this is amenable, I can pass this by the legal folks.
If enough feel strongly about having "Java" in the tagline, then that's
the route we should pursue (and thank you for taking this on).
Personally I don't have strong opinions, can live without "Java".
Roger's latest tagline, "Open Source Database", is a nice fit and would
require no legal approval.
But what do others think?
The more I think about this, the less I like depending on obtaining
permission for the tagline.
David, as the champion of keeping "Java" in the tagline, how strongly do
you feel about retaining it?
