I think I know what happened. I ran my tests using jdk14 and JDBC4 tests will not run in that framework. Let me try jdk16 to reproduce the failure. It seems test failures are localized in org.apache.derbyTesting.functionTests.tests.jdbc4.SetObjectUnsupportedTest
