I haven't looked at the patch, but I agree that (1) is a step forward and (2)
is no better or worse than today.
If you copied the java.sql files from Harmony, you may also have to copy parts
of the NOTICE file from Harmony (see ยง4.4 in the Apache License,
http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0#redistribution).
