Well, Lily. I think the reason for the authentication failure and subsequent
hang is because the server requires authentication on shutdown now with 10.5.
(DERBY-2109)
I don't know how to work around that problem. We can't change the 10.3 tests
to pass the user/password because the NetworkServerControl api that allows that
does not exist with 10.3.
I did try running the 10.5 tests with a 10.3 soft upgraded database and just
got a lot of ROLES errors and then went back to 10.3 successfully, so I think
that is as much testing as we can do. If there are no objections I will
resolve this issue.
