Has the application set derby.locks.waitTimeout? The Object.wait() call in the
stack trace should have a timeout, unless derby.locks.waitTimeout is negative,
so I don't understand how it could be hanging there forever.
Are there any threads updating the database in parallel with the threads that
perform these queries, or are the SELECT threads the only threads working on
the database?
