Using the English forms of the words.
Both Scottish and Irish are basically have the same lineage
And native spaekers can usually understand each other.

Maybe forget the warrior part of the word.
Use the H2O bit

Linn = conjures up > lakes, rivers, bays, streams.
or Book of Kells style waves.

Real life example of Linn
Dublin > Dubh linn > Black pool.
