I disagree. I think the new website looks disconnected from both the brand
identity and the actual look of LibreOffice.
I did try to use the new LibreOffice 4 branding on the current website and I

I do not know if I "truly" like the green in that header logo, but I
think it looks better than the black half-circle, or at least more
towards the "green theme" used by the rest of the web site.
Of course you do need to have a "link" or two more added to the list,
showing more of the same list as the original green themed web pages do.

Since I took the header of the current web page to use it in a brochure,
here is the brochure with the header that is proposed here.
I do like this header logo design on the brochure, over the black
half-circle one.
