It seems like for both you and Jeffrey, it's about setting a specific time? As opposed to more granularity about # of minutes before an event.

Jeffrey, would you prefer to set the reminder for 6:42? or for 48 minutes before your 7:30 practice?

Hi Ted,

Not to put you in the inquisition chair or anything, but can you give some examples of events where more flexible reminder options would be helpful? Or maybe it's not based on the event, but where you are (ie. If you're at home, you need less time to be warned before a phone call meeting. If you're in the office at OSAF, you need more time to move to a conference room, etc).

Yes, some of it is based on where I am, or where I have to get to -- factoring in transportation time is one usage. Another usage is if I have to do something in advance of the meeting - read something, or otherwise prepare. For my geek book club, I like to set the reminder several days in advance to remind me to do the reading. That's more of a task reminder, but it's still an instance where I'd like more control over the reminder duration.

JEFFREY WROTE:
Here's a common use of specific reminder times for me:

I have choir rehearsal at 7:30 in Oakland. The last reasonable BART for
me to catch is at 6:55, I want a reminder to fire at 6:42 so I have
enough time to pack up and walk to the station.

Sincerely,
Jeffrey
