1) People may have more than one email address. They might be using multiple email accounts in Chandler - I am right now.
one should be able to associate multiple email addresses with his cosmo account as well, but i haven't gotten around to implementing that yet.
2) What happens when people's email addresses change? How do I reconcile that with the account name I have setup 3) If I enter an email and it doesn't find an account match, it creates a new one. What if I already have an account but someone is using one of my other emails...now I have 2 accounts?
if your cosmo account includes all of your addresses, then jeremy's suggestion works. if not, we provide tools for shared content to be moved from one account to another. this can be done with dav today, but it would be good to also have in the ui.
4) For this automatic account creation - how to we deal with passwords?
think of it more as a "placeholder share". when the sharee visits the share url for the first time, cosmo says "you are not authenticated - either log in or create a new account". when the new account is registered, the acl is stored with it. this could even be streamlined so that when chandler submits email addresses for sharing, cosmo returns tokens to be inserted into the sharing url for each user. when a sharee clicks the sharing url, cosmo sees the token, matches it to a stored email address, and automatically shows the registration form with that field filled in. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Open Source Applications Foundation "Design" mailing list http://lists.osafoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/design
