Hi Philippe,

Perhaps more important than the Chandler desktop user using email submissions as a way to get data into Chandler from other email clients...email submissions allows casual collaborators, to submit items to shared collections without having to use Chandler and/or go to Cosmo. Instead, they can collaborate with Chandler users (Hub, Coordinator, etc) from the comfort of their own email client.

For what it's worth, I completely see how this option helps bridge the gap
for me and others. If I publish an email address for my primary
collection(s), then I can use the "forward" mechanism of my client (s) to enter items into Chandler. Moreover, I can also use my server- side and client-side filters to auto-submit certain kinds of items that enter my world via email (1200 a day at last averaging) straight into Chandler.

Now that we cleared the scenarios being served by the feature, I agree that this is an interesting idea. It also has the advantage of working for any class of email server (POP and IMAP) and email client (Web based or not). This generality is definitely a plus. Also the impact on Chandler or Scooby is close to nil: there's no email feature that becomes required as a consequence of endorsing this solution.
1- keep the address/subject scheme very simple so that users can do it
themselves (i.e. forward to their calendar address and doctor the
subject line by hand)

That's the current consensus proposal that Mimi and I have both endorsed.
Excellent!
