Hi Folks,

Bryan and I were having a conversation about recurrence today and I
realized we're approaching a confusing moment for recurrence and triage
status.

Right now, in the table view, you can't see occurrences, only the master
event of a recurring series. Since we can only set triage in the table
view, we can leave triage status (and the associated reminders to
manipulate that status as time passes) effecting only the master for now.

However, we're fast approaching the time when triage status is visible
in the Detail View, so we'll be able to see it for individual occurrences.

How should triage status work in the detail view for occurrences? How
is a recurring event's "next important time" effected by occurrences?

There's been talk in the past of displaying a few occurrences and
modifications along with masters, but making this work well is a major
undertaking and we haven't prioritized it.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is that perhaps instead of
always displaying the master, we want to display the next relevant
occurrence in the table view, taking the current time and triage status
into account. I expect doing that would be quite a bit of work, but at
least it wouldn't involve varying numbers of rows per item like
displaying several occurrences alongside a master would.

Sincerely,
Jeffrey
