So once again, it would seem to make the most sense when using 'Tuesday' is referred to the  upcoming Tuesday. Other dates which are past or the following day would be most clear in date format, ie. 9/26/06.

Adding past or next on the dashboard may cause more confusion to the user (perhaps? At least in my experience.). Not to mention more text in the column, which would need to be resized to see which day you're referring to. Unless you're able to change the date dynamically as I resize the date column, ie. 'September 26, 2006', change to 'Sep 26, 2006', change to '9/26/06' as I resize the date column in mac mail.

The use of proper nouns, 'Yesterday', 'Today' and 'Tomorrow' is clear and understandable to me.

If today is Friday and you see Tuesday in the Date column for an item in the Dashboard, do you think next Tuesday? or this past Tuesday in the same calendar week?
