I agree the Triage button is not very clear.
Is your suggestion to just have the user click on the Triage status
column header again to file/sort items? That seems like a reasonable
alternative, but I wonder how many people know to click on the column
header to sort. Wouldn't it just flip the sort order from ascending
to descending and vice versa?

column headers to cause sorts is widely used and understood, maybe
it would be better to not have this button at all and just expect
people to click on the column header when they want to re-sort on
triage status. To me this seems less confusing than having a
special button to sort one column, while the other columns are
sorted by clicking their headers.
